When to Water Clean a Carpet

08/05/2014 Back To Blog

Most will probably agree that when it comes to something like home carpet cleaning, anything that involves getting the rug wet can be an arduous process. Water restoration can be a real drag, leading to most owners simply using dry methods to cleaning their carpets. After all, no-one wants to spend a good amount of time waiting for their floorings to dry before finally being able to put them back when they can simply clean the carpet using a vacuum cleaner.

When to Water Clean a CarpetUnfortunately, while dry cleaning one’s carpet is all well and good, it does not work for every single situation. For example, if your flooring needs odor removal or even mold removal, this cannot be achieved through the use of the dry cleaning method. While it does apply to many problems and you can technically ignore the ones that require more extensive cleaning, it is always best to take good care of your carpet.

Water Cleaning is a Must on Certain Situations

It is generally recommended to wet clean your flooring if your carpet has a large stain you wish to clean, or if it is emitting a foul odor. Mixed with the right products this can solve the problem right away, which is fortunate as it is very difficult to tolerate a carpet with a bad odor. When it comes to stains, if the smell is not too bad then perhaps simple wet cleaning without the use of stain removal products will do.

There is no denying the fact that using water to clean one’s carpet can be an exercise in tedium as it can often take ages for the flooring to dry. However, it is also important to keep in mind that it also needs to be cleaned with water once in a while – otherwise you will end up with an unclean carpet no matter what you do.
